Carlsberg Vietnam Continues its Commitment to Sustainability in Central Vietnam with “Fresh Water for Beloved Central” Program

Carlsberg Vietnam, along with its iconic local brand Huda, continues its commitment in sustainability by delivering life-changing clean water solutions to 4 provinces in Central Vietnam.

Through its long-standing “Fresh Water for Beloved Central” program, the company proudly announces the successful completion of four essential water projects across Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, and Quang Tri in 2024. These projects mark another inspiring step in Carlsberg Vietnam’s ongoing mission to uplift communities and ensure a brighter, more sustainable future for the region.

For more than three decades, Huda has been more than a beloved beer—it has been a symbol of unity and pride, deeply woven into the culture of Central Vietnam. Now in its sixth year, the “Fresh Water for Beloved Central” program reflects Huda and Carlsberg Vietnam’s commitment to going beyond brewing beer by creating meaningful change and improving lives.

The “Fresh Water for Beloved Central” program was born from a profound understanding of the challenges faced by many in the region. Water scarcity, particularly in rural areas, poses a significant threat to health, economic development, and overall quality of life. Carlsberg Vietnam recognized this challenge and stepped forward to become a catalyst for change, driven by a sincere desire to bring meaningful progress to the people of Central Vietnam.

In close collaboration with local partners, Carlsberg Vietnam conducted comprehensive surveys on the current state of water supply systems across four provinces to craft targeted investment plans. Tailoring our approach to each project's specific needs, we have undertaken initiatives such as upgrading and repairing water filtration systems at local water stations.

This year’s achievements build upon a legacy of success. With the completion of these four projects, the program has now delivered clean water to a total of 9,000 households across five provinces – that’s nearly 35,000 people who now have a reliable source of this essential resource, bringing peace of mind, especially during the challenges of summer and rainy seasons.

The impact of the “Fresh Water for Beloved Central” program extends far beyond simply providing access to clean water. By completing these projects, Carlsberg Vietnam is helping to improve public health by reducing the incidence of waterborne diseases, leading to healthier families and stronger communities. Moreover, the program boosts economic development by enabling communities to thrive through support for agriculture, small businesses, and overall economic growth, laying the foundation for a more prosperous future.

Additionally, by constructing durable and reliable water infrastructure, Carlsberg Vietnam is helping to minimize future maintenance needs and reduce the potential for water waste, contributing to a more sustainable approach to water management in these communities.
